  • 7 Rose Oud Fragrances for Autumn

On a morning walk in the Saudi Arabian desert, perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud came across an oasis near Jeddah. He built Louis Vuitton’s Fleur du Désert around three flowers of the region: jasmine, orange blossom and rose, set against oud.

As we step into autumn, layering returns to our wardrobes, with richer fabrics and bolder scents as the finishing touches that bring everything together. Oud runs through all seven fragrances here, each with its own character, showing just how versatile and playful it can be.

Maison Crivelli’s Oud Maracujá adds passion fruit, which sharpens the oud and lightens it. Guerlain’s Cherry Oud goes the other way, pairing cherry with leather for something darker.

When it comes to evening and occasion scents, Penhaligon’s Halfeti combines grapefruit, rose and spice, balancing boldness with a more classic character. For something that works from day into evening, Dior’s Oud Ispahan Esprit de Parfum layers clove and cumin over honeyed rose. It has a richness that leaves a lasting impression, the perfect finishing touch before heading out.

Maison Francis Kurkdjian’s OUD velvet mood holds on to a little summer warmth in the most opulent way. After a visit to the Liwa dunes in Abu Dhabi, Kurkdjian combined peach skin, suede and oud to recall sand that has held the day’s warmth.

For something more effortless this autumn, Roberto Cavalli’s Divine Oud offers a lighter sweetness through raspberry, violet and rose, as suited to an autumn afternoon as to an evening out.

Fragrance first, wardrobe second. Consider this your invitation to indulge in timeless rose and oud fragrances that carry you into the next season and bring back the warmth of moments you thought you’d forgotten.
