For Storm Pablo and Marvin Douglas, the appeal of Moynat’s archives was how relevant they still felt. Hotel labels more than a century old became the starting point for a contemporary collection. Friends since meeting in 2019, the duo bring the same chemistry to Hotel Moynat that shapes their styling and tour designs for artists including Bad Bunny.
With roots in trunkmaking dating to 1849, Moynat has always been connected to travel. For Hotel Moynat, new leather patches take their inspiration from the original hotel labels in the house’s archives. Printed on leather and stitched individually onto the bags, they bring those travel memories into the present.

1. How did you connect Moynat’s history with the present?
Our first reaction was to do our homework: research the brand and learn about its history. In the archives, we noticed patches that were over 100 years old, yet still felt so cool to us. We wanted our collection to have that same timeless quality.
We were both born in the ’90s, so there’s always a bit of that feeling in what we do. But we also like to stay ahead of the curve. With Moynat, I feel like we brought those things together as a trio.
2. Do you design together as well as style together?
We style together and design together. We make clothing for our artists’ tours—for Bad Bunny, for example, we’ve designed clothing for his band and dancers. This collaboration is a chance to show another side of what we can do.
3. How did the collaboration with Moynat come about?
We knew Moynat through previous projects with artists. When they approached us, we thought they wanted to collaborate with one of the artists we work with. When they said they wanted to work with us, we were surprised. Behind-the-scenes people aren’t usually highlighted to this degree. Moynat has been doing that, and they’ve continued it with us.
4. How important is friendship to the way you work?
We were friends before we worked together, and even our interns and assistants are friends of ours. For us, people have to love what you love, and love you enough to work with you. It’s about believing in each other. That’s something our friend group does really well. Respect is something we share.

5. How do your different tastes complement each other?
We’re very different in our style and sometimes our personalities. But you can see how it comes together in our work, both with our clients and in our designs.

6. Which seven places have left the biggest impression on you?
Tokyo, Madrid, Paris, Los Angeles, New York, Sydney and Puerto Rico.
We have to highlight Puerto Rico. We lived there for three months and have been travelling back and forth for the past seven years. That makes it very special to us.

7. What are you working on next?
We’re working on more things together, which is special to us. You’ll see more of that in the future.
